BEFORE YOU PACK

Protect your data in five steps.

Complete these checks before sending your console. Menu wording can vary by system version, so consult the manufacturer’s support instructions if anything looks different.

1

Back up what matters

Sync saves through your supported subscription or copy permitted captures and files to suitable storage.

2

Remove removable media

Take out game discs, cartridges, SD or microSD cards, USB drives and storage expansion cards unless specifically included.

3

Sign out and deactivate

Remove user accounts and disable primary-console, console-sharing or home-console settings where applicable.

4

Factory-reset the console

Use the system settings to erase users and restore factory defaults. Keep the console connected to power until it finishes.

5

Check the welcome screen

Restart once and confirm it opens at initial setup without showing your profile, email address or passcode.

!

Locked or managed devices

Do not send a console that remains activation-locked, remotely managed, reported lost/stolen or attached to somebody else’s account.

What Sharper Sales should do on receipt

  • Record the parcel and device without browsing personal content
  • Quarantine devices that still show personal accounts
  • Use a documented secure-erasure process before resale
  • Restrict staff access and retain an erasure audit record
  • Contact the seller through approved channels if a lock blocks testing
These operational controls are the intended production standard and still require implementation, staff training and legal review.
